The Santa Cruz Works’ annual career fair and UCSC pitch competition event, previously known as “Get Hired” is back once again, and this time with a new name: Santa Cruz Launchpad 2022. This event is returning for its 5th year in a row and features an exciting combination of student business plan teams plus a community job fair open to the public. Santa Cruz Launchpad 2022 will take place in person on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at UC Santa Cruz’s Cowell Ranch Historic Hay Barn.

UCSC Pitch Competition

From 1-4pm, students will compete in a business plan competition for $40,000 in cash prizes. If you are a student and would like to compete, apply HERE

Job Fair

Starting at 5pm, job seekers will have the opportunity to interact with 15+ local companies offering 200+ jobs ranging from engineering to marketing, project management, sales, and customer support. Exhibiting companies include: Joby Aviation, PayStand, Looker / Google, Cabrillo College, Santa Cruz Bicycles, Ambient Photonics, Cruz Foam, Digital NEST, Bay Federal Credit Union, Unnatural Products, Santa Cruz Seaside Company, Zero Motorcycles, and more. There are 2 job openings for every job seeker! This event allows students, job seekers, professionals, and employers the opportunity to show off their resumes and career opportunities and make new connections. This is one of our biggest events of the year, with as many as 500 attendees. There is no charge to attend. But you must register.

Schedule

• 1-4pm: Round 1 of business plan pitches (open to the public)

• 5-6pm: Job Fair + Networking

• 6pm: Chancellor's Welcome, Pitch Competition finalist presentations

• 6:30-8pm: Job Fair + Networking

Parking is available in lots surrounding the UCSC Cowell Hay Barn (5 minute walk). Free parking after 5pm. Registration required. Vaccinations required. Masks are strongly recommended. Food & beverage will be provided.
