If you have a clean energy idea and are in California, apply for CalSEED’s grant funding. Early stage entrepreneurs can get $150K on this first round with the possibility of $450k to come! Applications open February 28th. Learn more and apply.

CalSEED is open to applicants working on early stage innovations — from concept to basic prototype:

  • The proposed innovation should benefit California ratepayers

  • You must be located in California, provide your California address, and be in good standing with the California Secretary of State

  • Be under the $1 Million private funding cap

  • The concept should be pre-demonstration scale (Technology Readiness Level 2-4)

  • Be within one of the specified technology areas

CalSEED is a funding and professional development program for innovators and entrepreneurs working to bring early-stage clean energy concepts to market. Powered by New Energy Nexus and its mission to create a 100% clean energy economy for 100% of the population, CalSEED supports diverse entrepreneurs who deliver equitable outcomes from their cleantech innovations. The CalSEED Concept Award provides promising innovators with $150,000 in grant funding, unprecedented professional development resources and access to California’s best accelerators and incubator programs!
