eTribe Leverages Cloud Brigade’s AWS Expertise to Make a Virtual Conference Platform

Etribe, a digital agency made up of a senior team of technologists and artists with over 30 years of experience specializing in the production of interactive 3D applications in video games, theater, and film industry recently partnered with Cloud Brigade, a professional services consultancy and AWS select tier partner based in Santa Cruz, CA to bring cloud services knowledge and expertise to support Etribe’s tech team in launching a project titled TellyClub for the company in an entirely new category.

The Challenge

Cloud Brigade was tasked with the challenge of developing a browser-based VR environment that was fun, collaborative, and engaging as well as a scalable, traffic-resilient virtual architecture. In addition, it was also necessary to have real-time user-tracking telemetry to keep track of individuals’ movements. Imagine Zoom meets The Sims in the sense that you’re able to engage in conversations and network with people in a visually constructed environment. While Etribe has plenty of experience with designing platforms, they needed someone with more cloud computing experience to complete the project. Etribe ultimately chose Cloud Brigade as their partner for their project due to their expertise in AWS Deployment, commitment to security, and ability to deliver a prototype and define the project in a cost-effective manner.

The Outcome

Cloud Brigade developed TellyClub with a scalable backend with AWS ECS infrastructure, AWS Fargate container management, high-speed caching through AWS Redis, SSL certificate updates, and streamlined code deployment from PlayCanvas to AWS. The platform offers immersive features such as robot body avatars that incorporate TV-shaped heads with visuals from the user’s camera and spatial audio for more realistic interactions similar to what one would experience if they were networking in the real world. The self-sufficient serverless application is optimized for scalability and requires minimal oversight. When asked about the project and potential for future collaborations, eTribe's CEO Spencer Lindsey responded positively.
