Digital NEST Opens Modesto, California Center

Education is critical in breaking down socioeconomic barriers and ensuring equal opportunities for all. However, underserved and underrepresented communities often face limited options and obstacles in accessing quality education, especially when it comes to technology. That’s why non-profit Digital NEST, is taking the lead in empowering Latinx youth with technology education. With the partnership of the Stanislaus Community Foundation, the Porges Family Foundation, and the City of Modesto, Digital NEST celebrated the opening of new center in Modesto, CA with a ribbon-cutting event. This new center will offer Modesto students ages 14-24 a chance to learn essential digital skills and career opportunities they otherwise may not have had have access to.

Digital NEST is a non-profit organization that has been empowering underserved Latinx youth with technology education since 2014. Its newest expansion to Modesto is just another example of its commitment to bridging the gap in access to quality education. The new center will offer a range of services that aims to equip students with technical skills as well as professional development. These services include a free computer lab, career exploration workshops, intensive job training academies, paid internships, and job placement assistance. The team at Digital NEST has tailored the programs to meet the unique needs of youth today, focusing on essential skills such as communication, critical thinking, and project management.

The Modesto center offers endless possibilities for students looking to learn and grow. Students can choose from various pathways including web development, graphic design, digital marketing, data science, and much more. With this range of programs, Digital NEST is making sure that students can take a personalized approach to their education.
