Santa Cruz Works Announces Changes to Team

We are excited to welcome Iman Schaefer to the Santa Cruz Works team. Iman joins us with a rich background in technology and business, having cultivated her expertise through dynamic roles in startup environments, cutting-edge research, and impactful community projects.

Currently attending UC Santa Cruz; Iman is involved as an undergrad student researcher in Sharf Lab and has taken on roles as a NASA Lucy Mission Ambassador and Shaun Polymele researcher. Her leadership skills have been pivotal at GetVirtual Non-Profit, where she served as Director of Commercial Clients and Executive Board Member, steering infrastructure expansion beyond Santa Cruz into Santa Clara. Previously has developed a curriculum focused on business startups at the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurial Development (CIED), she played a key role in the start-up ecosystem at UCSC and within Santa Cruz,

In the start-up ecosystem at UCSC Iman has been instrumental in developing early wildfire detection systems, Wildly. Her entrepreneurial spirit in healthcare was achieved as she co-founded Medlog, a healthcare management and communication system that was a runner-up at Launchpad 2024. She is also nominated in March to be the President of CruzHacks 2025.

Iman is excited to join Santa Cruz Works’ Team that is dedicated to fostering innovation and supporting the local business community. We are excited to see the Santa Cruz Works Team grow and thrive.
