If you have ever been to a national surf kayak contest at Steamers Lane, you likely saw local Ed Martinez shredding the biggest waves of the day. But that is not all he does. Enter main stage: New Fiber Project (“NFP”).
The Big Idea: An Introduction
The New Fiber Project (NFP) vision combines advanced material science, production and processing of fibrous agricultural waste, reimagining the production of consumer packaging in use today, construction materials and paper products. Upcycling waste materials into value added products and disrupting a $80B industry. Safer, cleaner, greener products for consumers that benefit the environment, create local jobs, and provide positive public relations opportunities for all interested parties.
Strategic Plan
A green, three-phase effort to create a highly scalable and profitable global science, upcycling and marketing enterprise to revolutionize the packaging, construction materials and paper industries. Utilizing state-of-the-art technology, advanced materials science and bioengineering to synthesize intellectual property providing a high ROI through global licensing and franchise opportunities.
Phase 1: The Central Coast pilot plant will begin with abundant local hemp waste diverted from landfills. Developed with academic, corporate and government strategic partnerships to research, prototype and refine value added products and production of packaging, plastics, construction materials and paper.
Phase 2: Dramatically scale the scope and focus of the demonstration project expanding production and research facilities to incorporate a diverse agricultural waste stream upcycling it into products on an industrial scale. Enhancements to production through AI, and machine learning, combined with state-of-the-art materials science, and process development, will form the foundation for patent and intellectual property development.
Phase 3: Will license and adapt the intellectual property and patents developed in Phase 2 globally to reduce waste, improve the environment, create jobs, upcycling agricultural waste into value added products on a global scale providing a stable and durable revenue stream for investors and a high ROI.
Funding
