Ocean Exchange Calling Startups With Innovative Solutions

Santa Cruz Works (“SCW”) partner Ocean Exchange is again challenging entrepreneurs to develop ocean solutions. This year, however, the Orcelle Award has a twist to it and the details may not be obvious to one only thinking about ocean-related topics. This award is funded by Wallenius Wilhelmsen of Orcelle Wind, an ocean carrier that has extensive land-based port operations. Therefore, the Orcelle Award is also looking for a wish list of innovative solutions that includes:

Wearables that identify more than movement impact, covering health, noise, etc.
improved knowledge sharing platforms for best practices in safety and quality, perhaps AI enabled.
AI learning for production or staff.
Anonymous HR feedback platforms. Real time to improve communication, engagement and psychological safety at sites.
Safety tools for low noise environments where EV cars and electric mobile equipment are operating.
Financial inclusion models for employees in challenged economies. Mexico and South Africa were mentioned specifically to connect employees with credit via financing institutions.

Of course these all tie into the US Sustainable Development goal that deals with workforce sustainability development.
